Our aluminium holders are an effective and safe method of attaching a Retort Check, Cannery Check or Thermal Process Check to a basket or tray.
They can be used in routine canning processes to safely attach a retort tag to a batch processing retort basket. They not only improve the visibility of the colour change but can also be used to attach indicators in hard to reach locations.
Use several of these holders to position indicators in hard to reach locations in the retort basket to support routine cold spot tests using probes: e.g. the
Retort Check needs saturated steam to change colour, not just time and temperature, meaning a more effective check for proper energy transfer through condensation is possible.
