Sterilisation Indicators

Do you buy sterilisation indicators?

Temperature Indicators is a distributor of the SteriTec range of time/temperature medical sterilisation indicators made in the U.S.

What we aim to do is provide a functionally superior product at a lower price. Our products meet the relevant ISO, and AAMI requirements for medical indicators and SteriTec staff sit on 7 of the committees that set those standards.

To date, we have been able to provide every one of our customers with some serious cost savings. In some cases that’s been up to 60% on regular items like Bowie Dick test packs which we offer in several varieties, from single use packs to some innovative reusable systems, a good way to reduce expenditure.

We also supply an extremely accurate and reliable range of intelligent indicators that can be used for sterilisation assurance for daily tests, load tests and individual packs.

If you want autoclave tape, we sell a very high quality tape manufactured in Canada. This isn’t the low quality, cheap Chinese tape a lot of the European distributors are selling to make a bit more profit in difficult times, it’s an extremely high quality lead and latex free tape at a very good price. Please call us with your current cost and we’ll try and beat it.

We have huge stocks available to ship immediately, and we offer further savings for bulk orders. The most you’ll ever wait for a delivery is a week if we have to ship something in from the SteriTec manufacturing facility in Colorado.

You probably haven’t heard of us, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give us a try. As an independent, family run British company, we’ve been supplying every one of the world’s biggest food manufacturers with sterility assurance products since the day we started. It’s likely that you take home a product checked with a TI indicator every time you do your food shopping.

We take pride in what we do and we are able to offer great prices by keeping our costs low, by not printing big glossy catalogues and by ensuring that we look after our customers. Many of our customers from the 1980s are still dealing with us today, and that makes us very proud.

We’ve been around over 25 years and we’ve a lot of experience to draw upon. Our website has full product information and you can even order safely online. Full technical information and certification is available for download and you can call or email us any time if you have a technical query. You’ll usually have not only a response but also an answer to your question within 24 hours. Orders are processed promptly and we offer credit accounts to all UK medical establishments, NHS or private.

If you prefer to place an order by phone or fax then we can be reached on the numbers below.

Buying steam autoclave tape? We’ll beat the price of your current supplier!

Lead & Latex Free Autoclave Tape

Price-beating promise on all autoclave tape

Temperature Indicators can now supply very high quality Class 1 autoclave tape for steam sterilisation autoclaves.

This process indicator tape is lead & latex free and available ex-stock in two sizes, 18mm and 24mm, both 50m length. This tape, unlike many on the market, is not made in China but in North America and performs to the highest standards. It conforms to ISO 11140-1:2009 (Class 1) specification and the ink changes from beige/light green to black when exposed to a suitable process.

Based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent in the UK, Temperature Indicators only supplies visual indicators that are used to give users the clearest and most reliable indication of temperature change or exposure to sterilant media. A full range of instrument washer validation indicators are also available: the Wash Check range manufactured by SteriTec in the USA, and a full range of SteriTec time and temperature integrators to conform to other ISO standards, including steam, dry heat, pre-vacuum, Formaldehyde and EtO sterilisation processes. With 25 years experience and stock available to ship next day, customers can rely on prompt deliveries of high quality products that are 100% accurate. We offer the best available products at highly competitive prices and ship worldwide.

Many people will already be buying this kind of tape, so Temperature Indicators offer to beat the current price of all existing IDSc members’ existing suppliers – and have done so already for several UK hospitals. You can also request a free sample of this autoclave tape by emailing sales@temperature-indicators.co.uk

Steris to stop selling Hydrogen Peroxide Indicator

We’ve learnt today that Steris are discontinuing their Hydrogen Peroxide indicator product.

As this is a widely used medical sterilisation indicator, a number of organisations have been in touch to ask if we can supply an equivalent product. That product is the SteriTec Cross Check P, and can be found here:

Please note that Steris and SteriTec are unconnected.

Interesting Sterilisation Application…

We’ve been contacted by a company looking to incorporate a sterilization ink on a bag used to contain medical instruments. As it turns out, this isn’t as easy as printing a sterilization ink directly onto the surface of the bag. Here’s what one of our colleagues at SteriTec in the USA had to say about this seemingly easy process:

“There are some problems with this.¬† The printing process has a lot to do with the performance of the ink.¬† The printing process affects ink performance and will lead to variation in the performance of the indicator if the printing process isn’t properly controlled. The way we achieve this is to keep the printing process in house and provide¬† quality control and testing support during the printing.”

The way to achieve this with some reliability and consistency is to print the ink onto a label and to apply that to the bag or item, either manually or using something like a Zebra roll printer. It’s essential to monitor the process from start to finish – so that’s what happens.

If you’re interested in this kind of application, please feel free to contact us.
